Critique groups can be a great place to learn

Before World War II, both J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were members of an informal critique group called the Inklings.

The goal of most critique groups is to improve the writing skills of its members by bringing together writers with different talents and skill levels. A well run group foster a sense of community and friendship. I’ve been a member of one such group for nearly twenty years.
